I studied English and History at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, where I received my teacher’s state exam degree (1. Staatsexamen) in 2014. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant at Edinburgh University for 9 months in 2010. In September 2014, I joined the American Studies division. From August 2015 to May 2016, I was an exchange lecturer at Georgia State University. I attended the Harvard Summer School program by the Institute for World Literature at Copenhagen University in July 2017.

My research focuses on American newspaper comic strips. I completed my dissertation in April 2018, in which I examined the aesthetics of American newspaper comic strips with a particular interest in Bill Watterson’s series Calvin and Hobbes. Other research interests include Comic Studies, Modern Art, American Romanticism, and Christianity and Literature. Additionally, I work as a freelance artist.
